TESTED & TRUSTED
We test our repellent incense at New Mexico State University's Molecular Vector Physiology Lab. But what does “tested" really mean? It means that we don’t hesitate to get in the weeds—or in this case, a cage—until we get the results you deserve.
During our studies, the NMSU team traces mosquito movement either to or from a human volunteer on the Murphy's Team. As olfactory-motivated creatures, mosquitoes move away from scents they don't like, such as our incense. The most recent study concluded that our mosquito repellent incense sticks successfully decreased human attractiveness (aka, the likelihood you'll get bitten) for up to two and a half hours each.
FAQs
What's with the new look? Are my old incense sticks the same as the new ones?
At Murphy's HQ, we are constantly asking ourselves how we can do even more good for the outdoors.
For our incense sticks, that meant removing unnecessary food dyes, plastic, and silica gel in exchange for better-for-you alternatives.
Other than removing the green food dye you can rest assured that these are the same great Murphy’s Naturals Incense Sticks your family is accustomed to!
My Incense sticks got wet, what now?
It is necessary to store your incense sticks in a cool dry place to avoid any moisture contact. If moisture penetrates the incense stick we suggest drying out the incense stick completely (we suggest laying them in direct sunlight).
We cannot replace incense sticks due to moisture content after opening.
How do I light my incense stick?
Hold the stick down at an angle into the flame. Allow the stick to catch fire and burn for 15-20 seconds then blow out flame. Place the stick into an incense holder or flowerpot filled with sand. Then, kick back and relax!
How do I extinguish my incense stick?
Place the tip of your incense stick in dirt, sand or water until extinguished. If you would like to reuse the stick do not use water, use dry dirt or sand. Any moisture will hinder future uses. Store in a dry cool place for the next use.
How do I store my incense sticks?
Please keep in a dry cool place. It is recommended that you store your incense sticks in their cardboard tube away from moisture.
Can I burn these indoors?
While our products are great at keeping mosquitoes away while you’re outdoors, the concentrated blend makes this incense appropriate for outdoor use only.
